Sean K. Collins specializes in long-term care, life and health insurance claim disputes, with experience in all phases of litigation. Mr. Collins never represents insurance companies – he only represents consumers.
Over the past decade, Mr. Collins has pursued the life, health and long term care insurance industry on behalf of consumers. Mr. Collins’ practice is dedicated to pursuing insurers who engage in illegal insurance schemes that prey on vulnerable families, children and senior citizens.
In addition to individual bad faith insurance litigation, Mr. Collins also pursues carriers through class action litigation, successfully recovering millions of dollars as class counsel in class actions brought on behalf of elderly class members, in Gardner v. Cont’l Cas. Co., No. 13-cv-01918 (D. Conn.) and Daluge v. Cont’l Cas. Co., 3:15-cv-00297 (W.D. Wisc.), where Mr. Collins served as Lead Class Counsel on behalf of long term care insurance policyholders challenging denials of their claims for assisted living facility coverage. The settlements in these matters resulted in major changes to claim handling standards going forward, along with multi-million dollar settlement funds available for harmed class members.
Mr. Collins received his B.A. from Williams College and his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and California.
